My blog today starts with my most sincere apologies. I haven’t written for a couple of weeks, I haven’t been quite in the right space mentally but it’s okay ,you guys get me. Smiley face.
Eastleigh. Home of all trades! Is where sasha is from. All her childhood as far as she could remember ,eastleigh was it’s epicenter.
You hear alot of Nairobi CBD (Central Border District) and no, I did not just google that! But you hear very little about the downtown where the streets are not cleaned on the daily, sports cars from the leafy suburbs park along government offices, cool kids don’t take uber trips to watch movies in cinemas or play at game masters. No it’s Eastleigh, the complete paradox, the pavements are fairly clean to a point then there are just so many people!
But this story is barely about Eastleigh. It’s about trauma. Sasha. She pierced herself through crowd who had taken matters into their hands to teach a lady who had stolen jewellery from a local dealer. It was a norm she was either running from local authority or shots fired or tear gas.

It’s surprising how busy these streets can get. It was one of those places that never slept. Always busy. She had tried to call her boyfriend thrice the previous night but could not get a hold of him. She could not wait to get home and see if he had seen and called back .Since he joined campus he’s been really poor at communicating with her. But it was okay she kept on going, double texting, voicemail and calls, you get.

Moment by moment, Sasha had not even noticed how narcissistic the guy had become! She loved him and that is all that mattered.., but it blinded her from this selfish person he had become. She was home in a few, just some minutes before dawn and as soon as she brought breakfast, went to check her phone to see if he had called ,but there was nothing. No calls,no texts, no voicemails, no nothing! Her spirit sank and melted away. All the inconsistent presence, lies, late replies and unmatched energy meant only one thing and she knew it.

He had seen her missed calls, the previous night, he left them ring till she couldn’t ring or would get tired at some point,he left her messages on read. That night he had gone to rave with his friends to a party ,he had put his phone on do not disturb. Not a care in the world! Maybe she had fallen in love with the wrong person. Maybe he was just too selfish to care .Maybe a little decency to tell someone you want out.
She would have been able to take rejection. But the suspense , the trauma was way worse than a heart ache! She knew she what needed to be done alright!
